We provide drives for beam pumps daily and while there are several units to choose from, there are only a couple that have the ability to save energy while lowering maintenance costs. Ex: A drive with external resistors can actually add cost to energy bill. Also, if you are running on a time clock 50% time, add a VFD - slow the unit down (virtually 100% run time) there is a chnace your bill will go up slightly...but almost always there is an increase in production to offset. Feel frere to contact for field studies on power savings and increased production.

a typical beam pump operates with a fixed RPM electric motor; therefore the pumps are either on or off. To avoid multiple starts, VFD solutions are applied to slow the pump to match the well’s low productivity. should have the capability of receiving Pressure and temperature signals and process it to ensure proper pump response.

I has been my experience also that special attention needs to be taken to address Lightning Issues. VFD are vunerable to lightning in beam pump applications in many cases as having the best ground connection for miles in any direction. Input TVSS is almost a must.
